Walters Residence
The clients wanted an unpretentious house with a significant French Country feel. The exterior is 'sloppy' stucco and interior has 10'0" ceilings and all the walls are plaster. The floors are all wide-plank antique hardwood floors except the stair parts, kitchen and breakfast room floorss, which are 12" X 18" limestone pavers. The clients wanted as much light as possible, so the garage is a detached building with a gambrel roof, which houses a complete apartment above. The highlight in this house is the 7'-6" high X 9'-6" wide limestone fireplace. It is fabricated and carved out of 28 pieces of limestone and weighs 14 tons!
